DL 1706 scheduled to depart LAX at 11:30AM. The airplane type was a B757. Loaded flight and the waiting area was filled with people. You could not hear the announcements about the boarding. They did try to have people gate check their roller bags to save room on the overheads. Good idea and no charge. It took more than 45 minutes board the entire airplane. I don't think it was Deltas fault, but more the travelers. They offered free internet because of the holiday promotion. Nice. We were about and hour late getting into the air. They did loose my bag which is always a plus in my mind. Baggage drop at LAX is night mare. Arrive early for sure. To get to security we had to go downstairs and walk the length of a terminal to get to TSA screening. After the screening it was back down the underground terminal and back up into the main terminal. I have never been in the basement of an airport before. It was a lot of walking. I think it was because of some construction being done. First Class passengers did not go this way. They had their own escalator up to TSA.

We've flown Spirit before and vowed never to fly with them again but they pulled us back in with their low, low airfares. We flew with 4 people to Detroit from Los Angeles for under $700, that's including 1 checked bag! The check in person took a long time and wasn't clear in explaining what was considered a personal item or a carry on item. There is no in-flight service other than drink you have to pay for. The stewards can be a little snippy and cranky. The seats are tiny with no leg room. I saw men folded like accordions. Bring your can of Lysol and a bottle of sanitizer. There were food remnants left behind on the tray in front of me, from who know how long ago. Stains on all the seats my family occupied. But it was a 4 hr flight. The plane was on time and we got our luggage when we landed both ways.

I would only upgrade to a larger (stretch seating) seat from now on - which Frontier offers at a bit higher price, but it's worth it. The crew was good, service average - check in to the plane, good.

Flew Delta for the first time since it took over Northwest; each seat has a TV monitor with average offerings, some free, some pay-to-view. It helped pass the time on the 4.5 hour flight each way.

out bound flight left late as usual. Over crowded as always. Return flight was even worse. Plane did not show up on time. Once there they boarded us then made everyone get back off the flight saying computers were done. Then they put us back on the flight and then said they were delayed due to weather. I guess star's in the sky is a problem for spirt. Ended up over 3 hours late on the return flight and they would not put us on a flight that would be on time.
