I now recall why I have many hundreds of thousands of miles with Delta and United and several thousand on American. If there is ever a choice, I doubt I will fly American. The counter people were rude and offensive, even though they were having a very happy time amongst themselves behind the counter. The signage was horrible at LAX for check-in and they were very offended that I had come up to the bag drop to ask a question. After moving the party of six down to check-in, there were a number of agents chatting amongst themselves, while there were a number of people standing in line waiting. Once we were to the counter, they definitely were not pleasant. I know one traveler (or a family of travelers) really doesn’t matter, but I wanted to point out what we experienced.

The flight was exactly what I expected when I booked a flight for $138.00. The plane was small (American Eagle) and was not exceptional nor was it bad - it was on-time both directions and I would definitely book again for a similar price!

Seat had very little padding. Seat back pocket fell off when I stuck a book in it. And of course, because it was American Airlines, NO pretzels nor peanuts!

Overall the flight was average or above average. FA's were hospitable and helpful. Overall comfort isn't any different from most airlines.

The seats were narrow. VERY little leg room. The monitors needed a credit card to watch even just your route. Received only a small glass of soda. I hope not to have to travel on Frontier again.

No problem with the actual flight, but when I arrived in Denver, my suitcase - which is not cheap to check now - was a mess: the TSA-approved lock had been ripped off the bag - damaging the zipper - and the top handle had been pulled out so that it was barely hanging by just one loose screw.
LAX and American have a big problem. Be warned!
I am NOT happy with them - and this is not the first or only time. It took them three days to find and deliver my suitcase on a LAX-MIA flight a few years ago.

I fly Frontier as my airline of choice. The crews are almost consistently friendly (even after the 10th leg of a 4 day trip).
On my last flight, I had neglected to choose my seat in time and ended up with a middle seat. One flight attendant promised to find an aisle seat for me if available, and she did!
Really, the in-flight crews make the difference for me. Frontier consistently comes through... on time!

Make sure you know what you are getting with Classic/Classic Plus. Front (classic) boarded last so carry bags went to baggage claim both times. Ugh. Our row had horrible odor and they departed knowing that so gave us coffee beans to eliminate odor! (prior psg must have been sick) Service ok outbound; one quick drink cart on return and didn't see them again (no peanuts either). Frontier used to be great. What happened? I will give them it was full flight.

Love not paying for luggage and the reasonable fares. Every time I have flown SW they left and arrived on time. Don't like not having an assigned seat but these days you can't have everything. We still received free drink and small snack.
