    Fast Flight But Redeye Pain

It's a shame that JetBlue can't come up with a daytime non-stop flight from Long Beach to Fort Lauderdale (and most other eastbound non-stops!)

The westbound flight on Nov. 25th, 2010, was lo-o-ong, due supposedly to strong headwinds. It arrived 1-1/2 hours late in LGB.

Our longtime East Coast/now-'winter home' is just 5 minutes south of Ft. Lauderdale airport.

The return (eastbound) flight has always been as prompt as promised, but its being a redeye has made us decide to use a direct flight on another airline, between Ft. Lauderdale and LAX.

These two CA airports are only about 10-15 miles apart, and it's a 70-mile drive from Long Beach south to our just-purchased 'summer home' in Oceanside, CA. So...adding the extra 10-15 miles to get to LAX from Oceanside (spending the night before in a hotel at LAX for the 10 am LAX-departing flight to FLL) has become our choice.

We use JetBlue non-stops to visit best friends in the Wash., DC, area and family in Boston, MA. This will continue, but the twice-yearly flights we'll now be making to CA WILL NOT BE ON JETBLUE: a late afternoon westbound flight (which, as explained above, can take and extra 1-1/2 to 2 hours) and a redeye (overnight) flight eastbound are now OFF our travel agenda with JetBlue.

Sorry, JetBlue, but this loss of our two+ annual flights is YOUR FAULT!

The airport is small, old, no class. JetBlue was late over an hour and the staff was rude. They were also late to come back and rude as well
