I'd forgotten how cramped the bigger jets of Delta's really are... I flew a 737 from LAS to ATL, then a smaller version from ATL to BNA earlier this month. The flight from LAS to ATL was terrible. I barely had room under the seat in front of me (I was on the isle) for my backpack and my knees always touched the seat in front of me, and I'm a big guy (6'1", 250 lbs). Of course, it didn't help any that the guy in front of me wanted to recline his seat for as much of the 4-hour flight as possible.
Then there was the beverage service. Seeing as how I was sitting on the left side of the plane, the kart the flight attendants used had an actual bulge on the left side at about my shoulder height. This meant an "excuse me" every time they wanted to go past me and most other people on the left side sitting on the isle.
Eventually we landed. And I couldn't have been happier! The second leg of my flight was only an hour, and I had an empty seat between mine and the window (I had the isle, again).
Overall, the staff was friendly, but for a guy my size Delta's 737s have far too little leg room. Which I find funny, especially since when I flew on their regional jets (a prop and the Embraers) last year, I had noticeably more room. I'm going to avoid Delta whenever I can, just no comfort at all.
