Rush, rush, rush to get to the airport in enough time to make the traveling experience less stressful. And then...Long lines were seen and endured at both departure flights of this trip. There was confusion in these lines about how to check in, where to check in, and angry TSA agents who didn't have answers. While Air Tran makes it possible for passengers to check in and pay for bags online, there were still long lines at these airports, to "physically" check and weigh bags for loading onto the airplanes! There were people panicking, in desperation of missing their flights after having been in line for hours, because THERE WAS ONLY ONE PERSON TO HANDLE ALL THESE PASSENGERS!!!! It seems that we as passengers did our parts to arrive 2+ hours ahead of flight departure times, but the airline did not do its part to ensure that we were accomodated in a timely manner. Several of us were content to let those go ahead of us who were in danger of missing their flights! These people had to run to their gates and could not be assured that their luggage would make it in time. This was not the fault of the passengers...
Also, I did not know that there were any airlines that charged a fee for a seat assignment if it was not selected within 24 hours of the flight. I guess this is yet another way of nickleing and dimeing the consumer. I know you will say that you have kept your fares low, and your baggage fee is low, but a fee to select a seat? What's next? Paying for use of the rest room?
