I knew spirit was 'cheap' but after they charge you for EVERYTHING it turns out to be more expensive than most carriers.
What I didnt realize is they have the worst aircraft in the industry as well.
The seats are 3" closer than all other carriers and NONE of the seats recline. I booked a redeye flight and this was the worst experience ever.
They charge $7 for a pillow/blanket which isnt too expensive, except they didnt have any. Such a horrible airline.

I would pay twice the price just not to fly this airline again. The check-in was slow, not enough employee's, the stewardess were rude, not a single smile, and the seat were as uncomfortable as a park bench. The plane was filthy inside, and had an unpleasant odor.

flight was calm and quiet but seat comfort left a lot to be desired-paid for baggage at ticket counter and found the fee to be excessive-never again!

My outbound flight was canceled and I was not notified until just a few hours before departure time. The reason given was "weather". However, there was no weather problems in the Miami area or Las Vegas. The other carrier which I was able to travel seemed to have no weather related problems on a similar route and departure time...Delta was unable to accommodate my needs because their best re-booking would arrive too late for me to catch my ship. Meeting the ship at the first port was not an option as it was at sea the first two days, and I would have incurred even more added costs. I had to scramble to find a similar scheduled departure on the other carrier and pay an additional $1600.00 on the last minute booking for five seats. Although I am supposed to receive a refund for the unused portion of the Delta flight, that cannot begin to compensate me for the excessive stress on the outset of my long planned and much anticipated journey for my family, not to mention the unexpected added expense involved.

Waited to check luggage because the personel at the ticket counter were 25 minutes late. I paid $20 for an exit row seat on a 4 1/2 hour flight and my seat was broken and wouldn't recline. It was supposed to recline as it was the last exit row and the seats next to mine did recline. I was told to write a letter!!
