    Southwest does not do seat assignments when you purchase your tickets. You previously were forced to do 24 hour prior check in to get a boarding pass that would put you in either boarding category A, B,or C. They now offer Early Bird Check in at a cost of $10 per seat each way, to beat the 24 hr sign in people and this still only gives you A, B or C boarding ( not a seat ). What happens when everyone does early bird check in?? They overbooked the flight which meant someone got bumped. Why not just assign the seat based on when your ticket is purchased??
