I flew (4 months pregnant) by myself with my 17 month old daughter (dad stayed at home to watch dogs). I had to fly into Omaha, which is 3 hours from my parents house but the most reasonable direct flight to Iowa. (Des Moines is ridiculously expensive to fly to!) The security was pretty good and accomodating as were the staff at the check-in counters; they all let me know that if I needed anything to ask them and they tried to make the waiting as easy as possible. The flight attendants, on the other hand, acted almost annoyed that I had my daughter on the flight and essentially ignored us the entire time. When she was fussy (um, hello? a 17 month old on a 2 hr flight?!) they even more so ignored us. Awesome. Next time (if we fly before she turns 2) we will be getting an extra seat since there isn't a whole lot of extra room in the Express plane that took us to our destinations.
