This was the middle flight in a series of three... arrived on a flight from FLL with not much time to spare. Boarding commenced on time, but just as they started with the back of the plane, a mechanical problem stopped the process. Rather than leave part of the passengers on the hot plane, everyone was deplaned and we settled in to wait. While they could have been more proactive about letting us know what might happen to those with tight connections in LA (like me) the plane was fixed and we were on our way 1 1/2 hours later. Continental was nice enough to give us all free DirecTV access for the flight, which was welcome. We made up time in the air and I did make my next flight

Great crew. They handled an emergency with a passenger very well and they gave a great service. You should bring your own food on this flight since they don't serve food this late. It is also a good idea to bring a bottle of water. The stews do offer a drink service, but you need to keep extra hydrated on these flights and a bottle drink will allow you to sleep without worrying about spilling.. Also wear some warm clothes and bring a travel pillow

I require oxygen 24/7. On flights I carry a portable oxygen concentrator that makes extra oxygen just from the air. It is not a dangerous piece of equipment in any way. As we were boarding one gate agent said I needed a letter from my doctor for this equipment. The other gate agent said I didn't so we proceeded to get on the plane and get seated. Soon a red-jacketed Continental employee comes along and tells me I DO need this letter and will have to leave the flight and produce the letter before I'll be allowed to fly. I had told them when the reservation was made that I'd be bringing this equipment & they said, "fine." Not bring a letter from your doctor. Eventually I got the letter and eventually we were rebooked and made it to LA. What's interesting is that on the way home no mention was made of my oxygen concentrator at all. Not by the gate agents or the flight attendants. I am appalled by Continental's strong-arm techniques and wish I didn't ever have to use them again! Unfortunately, there's not much choice in Houston.

Exit row seating unavailable without excessive charges(69 per person) as indicated by nearly half unsold and]or occuppied by airline personnel. Food was junk and worthless. Only pluses were non stop, in flight TV and cheap.
