On the same route, Delta beats Hawaiian for its more comfortab;e seating, and more ample & frequent food & beverage. Its entertainment could be a lot better, but even with Hawaiian's digeplayers, Delta's got the overall edge.

As a Premier traveler of United Airlines, I was given priority treatment on the soon-to-be-merged Continental Airlines and it's quite nice. My first class complimentary upgrade roundtrip HNL-LAX had delicious dinners, comfortable seats, personal video choices with free earbuds(including satellite TV which allowed me to watch live sporting events until we lost signal)and good service from agents and flight attendants. Hopefully this satisfactory traveling experience will continue as the two airlines continue to become one.

Be very careful with your baggage weight as Hawaiian is very unforgiving and unreasonable about overweight and over-sized carry-ons. Notice how many carry-ons are being picked up as checked luggage at the baggage claims area.

The plane was not full coming or going from Honolulu to LAX probably because the price for tickets were high compared to other airlines, so we had lots of room.

We appreciate United's policy of allowing 12 year old middle school students to fly alone without parents or guardian. Wonderful!

I'm a frequent flyer with American and I don't care for seats in first class on the 757 planes, they're really not comfortable at all and you can barely recline in them. It makes flying in first kind of a waste.

Didn't have my phone on so missed three messages from United about a flight delay. We got there 2 hours before departure and found it would be a 3 1/2 hr. delay. Luckily, Honolulu is small enough so we went home, took a nap and returned one hour before departure. Good thing about it was most people got other arrangements and we had the whole row to ourselves and since it was a red eye, we slept through most of it. The plane was delayed at the previous flight...at least it wasn't 'cuz of repairs.

Check in was good. Flight and service good. Seats were too close together both front and sides (but they are all like that now). The baggage claim was the worst I ever experienced. It took @ 45 minutes after the flight for the bags to even start arriving. My bags took a full hour..........

We've travelled quite a bit and always choose Hawaiian. It's like going to a family gathering where you can "make house"!
