It is what it is. Not much you can expect from basic travels, right? I did travel from La to Australia which was very nice!

mostly weather delays. SW Air, to their cedit, delayed a departure flight (#1440) by 45 minutes to allow 18 of us connecting from BDL to LAX to make our flight.
Luggage and contents were soaked when we finally had time to open and inspect them. Unfortunately, this didn't occur until early the next morning due to meetings and prior engagements. SW Air has informed us that our (4) hour window to report any damages to baggage has expired.

Generally I don't fly Delta Airlines because of one reason. They don't have a lot of flights or partners in the West Coast. Plus, if its a "weather" delay, they won't rebook you on a different carrier. I got lucky that I had a seat on standby, but there were only a few flights each day to SFO/SJC/OAK, so it would have been inconvenient had they all been booked full. I usually like to fly the United family, as now they have United, Continental, and US Airways as their partners, all with decent numbers in the SFO/SJC/OAK area. Just a thought for west coast flying.
