“Couldn't start one engine. Really”

The connecting flight to Philly was late getting off the ground because one engine of (US Airways affiliate) Wisconsin Air jet wouldn't start until they used (after authorization from maintenance) the backup starter. Then they changed the gate for the flight from Philly to Cancun from A24 to C28, a long walk when you're short on time.
The prices for drinks/snacks/meals rival those at a major league baseball stadium, without the entertainment, but I assume all the airlines are trying to tap this profit center. By the time they got to me I was napping so I missed out on the free soft drink.

“Tight connection made worse by gate change”

One engine wouldn't start, delaying the first leg by 25 min until the secondary starter was ok'd by maintenance. Then the gate for the 2nd leg flight was moved a considerable distance without notice. I wouldn't have minded the walk except for the time constraint. The check-in person at the new gate had a cavalier attitude.
US Air is the only major airline to charge for the first checked bag to Mexico, and also charges for snacks (I brought my own) and sells pre-packaged meals. So far the lavatories are still free.

“Plane too small for connection from DC to Houston”

All the flights were relatively smooth. The plane from DC to Houston (Embraer RJ135/140/150)was too small for the longest leg of my trip. Normal size carry on bag could not fit overhead!
Fifty pound wt limit is unfair for 2wk international travel.

The flight attendent for our area was very unenthusiastic, to say the least! Headsets did not work on 1st leg and monitor did not work on return trip. Liked the nonstop option.

My husband and I decided to take our two youngest to Mexico. Delta certainly met our families needs.I am always aware that flying with kids can be challenging, but Delta seems to always be a good fit!

Flight went very smooth, no delays, excellent service. My finance parents needed wheelchair assistance and were changed to first class. IT was their first time flying first class and they loved it.
