It's been years since I've flown Continental and it was my first time in Newark, NJ. First off, lets just get this out of the way: The EWR airport is what a friend would call "a picture of failure." It is a dusty and rundown reminder of better days. The bathrooms are disgusting (and 'out-of-order was signified by a wedged chunk of wood), the overall decorum dingy, and electric sockets are falling out of the walls.
Continental airlines was the first choice of the least expensive tickets I could find. The worst parts: hostile flight attendants (maybe the airport set them off), rearranged seating at the last minute, and no communication with the people who they rearranged. The better parts: quick in-flight service, individual video screens that patrons can choose their own entertainment (for a swipe of a credit card), and a complimentary lunch. It was far from delicious, but I haven't seen complimentary meals in over a decade!
Overall the benefits are negated by the drawbacks leaving the decision of flying with Continental up to my search for cheap flights.
