Flight from Gulfport to Atlanta

Seat Comfort
I checked in 1 bag because I had bottles of liquid that were not allowed to carry on. While sitting in my isle seat waiting for the passengers to finish boarding, suddenly, something hit me so hard up side my head, that I was knocked senseless. I cursed while at the same time I found myself in the middle seat. When I looked up, this guy was looking at me laughing and saying something. He finally ask if I was O.K.? I told him it was too early to tell. One of the flight attendants came back to ask if he could help. One of the pilots had seen the whole thing and sent him back to check on me. The way it felt, I thought a piece of wheeled luggage had hit me full force. I ask for an asprin but the flight attendant said they weren't allowed to give passengers medicine. My complaint isn't with the airline, but rather the man sitting across the isle from me. For at least 15 minutes into the trip he was talking to his seatmate about what had happened. Nursing an ice bag on my head, I leaned across the isle to ask him if he had seem what happened. W/o any hesitation, he said "NO-I didn't see a thing". All I was trying to understand is what had happened and how. The bag belonged to the guy in front of me. He said that he put the bag in the compartment over my head and it got caught on the edge and the bag fell and hit my head. As if that wasn't enough, I went to pick up my checked luggage. Now that was something that since the TSA agents have taken over, have caused me to be concerned on 2 different occasions now. Because I had taken longer that usual at the gate to get an accident report written up about the accident, my bag had been taken off the belt and was sitting in the middle of the floor. There was a lime green tag that I ignored(by now I was just tired and wanted to get home). I went to get on Marta and noticed my lock was in a different than where I had left it when I locked my bag. Oh, I thought, the TSA must have used their key to unlock my bag to inspect it. When I laid my bag down to open it, I saw something green sticking out. I went ahead and opened my bag to realize that the agents had broken my zipper. Then I began to look for a slip from the TSA agents. There was nothing. Nothing!! Now we all know that the airlines all claim not to be responsible for anything their people do to tear up our luggage, especially the wheels and the zippers. But here I was talking to the people at Air-tran who were telling me they weren't responsible for broken zippers but my luggage company would probably replace it free.( my bag is a 22in. Victorinox carry on bag). My complaint was that If something had end up missing from my bag, it would have been my word against the TSA agent because w/o the slip acknowledging that they had opened my bag, I was powerless. The moral of this whole story: always choose a window seat and never, and I mean never, check in your luggage.
