I was very pleased with the low cost air fare for a non-stop flight out of Grand Rapids to Florida. My only wish would be for more leg room and space in the seating. But I am tall so I guess I have to suffer while flying as no airline offers the comfort level I need in economy.

Check in went great, but they didn't enforece the size of carryon luggage. That was disappointing to me after purchasing a bag that fit Allegiants criteria. I had to do a gate check because overheads were full. Sound system bad, couldn't hear any of the announcements.

As promised: a safe, simple, direct flight at a great value. Overall experience was very similar to flying "the big guys". The only difference was we could not choose our seats and therfore could not check-in online, even though we did not check luggage. We were seated together in the middle of the plane both ways. Also, we had to pay 2 bucks for a soda, but in light of the fare we paid, I did not mind that one bit. We happened upon an introductory fare and paid $150.00 total with all fees, for 2 of us! . . . for a direct flight. Looks like the regular rate will be closer to $200 pp, still a good value, but watch for specials. You can save $12 per ticket by purchasing at the airport instead of online.

My boyfriend and I recently flew from Grand Rapids, MI to Ft. Lauderdale and the flight was excellent. The fare was very cheap, the flight was quick with no stops and we departed and arrived on time. We are definately going to make this trip again. Thank-you to airfarewatchdog for the email stating the daily rates. Excellent experience.

No complaints about the flight. But starting out with a $60 "come-on" on Allegiants website and then watching the fees all add up till the ticket was $192... How would you rate that? Then at the airport, another $70 per bag round trip. A $60 ticket now at $262. Next time I'm going through a travel agent and just giving them my bottom line. Let them sort through all the B.S. fees!

Yes it looks like a bargain until you do the additions. The extra fees make it no more of a bargain than the main line carriers. I agree with the other post about the old fashioned boarding and long lines. Also, beware if you are even one pound over weight with you checked bags. They charge through the roof for that and are not very accommodating either. Also, the restroom on the plane stank like an outhouse. Caution, the seats do NOT recline. Otherwise it was just okay.

The ticket was difficult to book, although I think it will be better now that I have gone through the process. The base price is reasonable, but the add ons are something else. Not just taxes either; seat assignment, priority boarding, checked luggage, flexibility fee, and convenience fee (that created lots of discussion!) The line to check in at the airport was really long, old fashioned process and checking in online line only works if you have no checked baggage. Boarding the plane was just the opposite - very efficient and quick. There was lots of discussion in the boarding area about the various charges..Allegiant is new to Grand Rapids, so new to almost everyone on the flight. Not all of the discussion was positive, but we all agree on one thing - direct flights are good.
