Let's face it, sometimes Spirit offers deals so low you wonder how they can stay in business. They are a means of transportation for far less than any other. With that in mind, remember you get what you pay for. Service and timeliness can not be relied upon but I have always gotten to my destination and was glad to use my money for better things. As for check-in complaints, I always use the kiosks at the airport, but must admit I travel light with only carry-on. I do not book my seats in advance as they are free if you check in at the airport whether at the kiosk or with an agent. No, they are not the best airline for cleanliness nor timeliness. It is a way to get from point A to point B for a pretty good darn price!

Spirit Airlines earns its wings for an airline that is low on my list as a returning customer. A little more Spirit to treat customers right from the very start is in order.Start with full info on the website that tells customer what needs to be known from bag cost to program fees without going to the small print. Flight attendants should know the tone of their voice is as equally important in their instructions to paying customers even if it is a "discount" airline.

Spirit has earned a terrible reputation. They often require you to stand in long lines, the wrong lines, and they are mean. This comes from the top. I drove to their HQ near FLL to speak with anyone in customer service or management and they threatened to have me arrested if I did not leave their parking lot. I was legally parked and had entered their front door. Nevertheless, they dump empty seats for cheap prices, and often depart on time without incident. I carefully selected a first-morning flight, made sure I had no luggage and a boarding pass in hand, said my prayers and went to the airport. Except for my anxiety, it was smooth sailing - since I did not need to say one word to anyone at Spirit. Their CEO deserves scorn, and will come to a bad end if there is a God. Still, you might gingerly try one of Spirit's loss-leaders under similar conditions. Unfortunately, you cannot always predict whether you are going to be able to get a boarding pass online. I dread the day I cannot, as I will probably walk away and leave my money on the table before entering one of their waiting lines. Pay double to fly anyone other than Spirit.

Absolutely frustrating to deal with. Everything costs extra and worst checkin process I have ever seen. Could not get boarding passes thru online process which meant getting in line for an agent. They were not equipped to handle anything in a timely manner in Fort Lauderdale. Things were better in Orlando because online checkin worked. I didn't talk to one passenger in any line who was happy with Spirit. Can't see how they'll stay in business with their customer service.
