Booked an aisle seat and after over an hour delay i was called to the desk and given a different seat. never ocurred to me that it wasn't an aisle seat. not only wasn't it an aisle seat - but it was middle seat last row. i was livid. but plane was full - so i complained and was given a 75.00 voucher - which i probably won't use. i wasn't happy.

On the way down we didn't have assigned seats, yet ended up in the row with A LOT of leg room. Very happy about that! Return flight was very routine, left sunny and 70 degree weather in FL returned to snow and icy roads in MI. Not the fault of the airline... Whaaaaaa

Was pleased when we got our tickets that our seat arrangements had been relocated to the front of the plane from the only available companion seats at the rear of the plane. This made for her first time flight less stressful and warded off the anticipated panic attack and eased her closterphobia. Landing was a little rough, but I've had worse. Return flight wasn't as accomodating, and seats were in the rear of the plane. Landing was nice an smooth though on that flight. Both flights had good snack service.

Was informed my flight was "downgraded." Spent the last day of my vacation on the phone trying to get on a flight back home with people who could not help me and could not speak english well. Very difficult to communicate. Finally had to go to the airport to talk to someone who could help. I was put on a flight the next day leaving the next day on a different airline. RECEIVED NO COMPENSATION.

Had to take a last minute trip (2 hours notice). Airtran offered to upgrade me to business class for a reasonable fee. The plane was fully loaded and ready for departure 5 minutes prior to it's schedule departure from the gate. Usually it's the other way around. Most passengers were carrying luggage on. At some point agents at the gate were advising passengers they needed to check luggage. This resulted in no competition for overhead storage. Which is usually a BIG problem on Airtran flights.

In Orlando, FL we encountereed that our baggage exceeded the weight limit and at teh same time asked if we could upgrade our seats. Well we receive the upgraded seats and the agent did not charge us for the excess weight ($50 charge) which we were more then prepared to pay. Nice to see excellent customer service and we did not have to argue or ask for this savings.

I'm only 5'4" and I felt very cramped in the seat I was in. It also seems that the airline trys to find every consevable way to charge for a service. They post their fares at low prices but after you add the price for the luggage & seats (not to mention snacks) I found that I should have taken another carrier. I did however find the crew and captain to be very personalbe.

    Unaccompanied minor policy is ridiculous

They wouldn't let our daughter board her flight because she would arrive after 7pm at her destination on a direct flight! Their website does not say that is a requirement, just not the last flight of the day. Blamed me for not calling although her birthday was listed when the ticket was purchased!

We have flown unaccompanied minor on several other airlines without issue. We just paid the fee and filled out the form at the airport. Nowhere in the email I received with ticket conformation or on the unaccompanied minor policy page did it indicate I need to pay ahead of time. They just said to let them know she was unaccompanied, which we did the day of the flight.

The policy says also said that children SHOULD be booked to arrive by 7pm but MUST not be booked on the last flight of the day. They don't mean that, though, they actually mean that children MUST not be booked on flights that arrive after 7pm even if they are not the last flight of the day. There were two flights after my daughter's, and again, it was a nonstop flight.

We finally talked with a manager of a manager of a manager who would let her fly. However, once getting to the airport even with manager approval on her information AND a direct phone number to that manager, the checkin agent would still not let my daughter on the flight.

They repeatedly blamed me saying I was supposed to call. I still have yet to see ANYWHERE that says you need to call ahead of time to complete your unaccompanied minor purchase. Supposedly, when I called they would have informed me she couldn't fly on that flight (the ONLY direct flight of the day which is why I chose it) and would have required me to purchase a ticket on an earlier flight that had connections. Why would you require a child to go through connections when there is a direct flight available? I understand not having the last flight of the day for a connecting flight so she doesn't get stuck in some random city. I DON'T understand not allowing a child on a direct flight and instead insisting on a connecting flight based on some arbitrary cutoff time. Other airlines arrival requirements is at least 9pm.

I will not fly with AirTran again! I still can't believe that even with upper manager approval the checkin agent denied her boarding. We could have saved our self a trip to the airport!

I usually fly NW, now Delta, because of Detroit being a hub city, it's usually cheapest airfare. This time AirTran was the lowest. I'm familiar with the flight, as I travel this route often. The staff in-flight was amazing, proactive with the service. It was appreciated as I observed the comments of people around me. The legroom was tight, even for me at 5'2". Check in was a non-event, as it was done online, the same procedure for any airline.

Next time it would be worth it for me to pay for my luggage because it was cut up after both the trip there and back, and mine wasn't the only one. When I complained about my luggage and the way it was torn, the response I received was "we will only cover it if you are unable to use it to get your stuff home!" Just one example of the rude staff we ran into. We will never fly southwest again!

Each time we boarded the plane, we were held up by passengers who couldn't fit their carryon luggage in the overhead compartment. Luggage was moved around and restuffed to fit, holding us up for ten minutes. One stewardess told the young man in front of me that they would have to check his baggage if he couldn't get it in the compartment. Of course he kept trying to MAKE IT FIT,I feel this should've been handled at check-in. This particular carry on looked like regular sized luggage to me, and he wasn't the only one. Also my seat was between two oversized people.
