Allegiant is a great way to get from Des Moines to Florida as long as you can fly the dates they have available. Need to constantly check price to get the best deal, but good n0-frills, friendly flight has you there in less than 3 hours. Going for a weekend - just take a free carry on bag and enjoy hassle free travel.

We showed up at the airport more than 2 hours prior to our flight in order to get our seat assignment only to discover that Allegiant no longer did that. Now it's board last and take what seats are left. Disappointing...also not one snack or beverage without payment....So the discounted flight offers aren't really so discounted.
Was nice to fly non stop though.

Easy to check in. Lots of leg room on the plane. Flight Attendants were very personable. Cut my connecting flight in Milwaukee close and crew opened the doors to the jetway back up for me to make my flight.

Flying Allegiant was great for the direct flight. If you check a bag they offer to check any additional bags for free, which is great if you needed to. They weren't picky when it came to weighing your suitcases. We had two bags and they weighed them together.
Only negative was the fact that our flight was delayed to Florida and also on the way back to Iowa. But I guess that can happen on any airline.

The crew was excellent - very funny and put us at ease. Would recommend Allegiant very highly. On time and even ahead of schedule at times!

Allegiant has a non stop from Des Moines to Clearwater/St. Pete or Orlando and I have flown both several times. The pilot and crew are terrific, check in very easy and prices often quite affordable compared to other airlines. While I have been in roomier seats, this is a short flight and quite fine for the price. They only fly the Clearwater flight two or three days a week, and stop flying late August to mid November this year, so you have to work your trip around that schedule, but if you can I would highly recommend Allegiant.

The flight wasn't delayed or late, which is usually above average nowadays. The plane actually seemed somewhat new and the service on the plane was very pleasant.

I love Allegiant. Almost all their flights are non-stop, the times are convenient and the staff is excellent. Since they are non stop, I don't understand why so many people try to carry on all their luggage. It makes for a congested and uncomfortable entry and exit from the plane. It is worth the money to check your bags, as on a non-stop they aren't going to be routed to the wrong airport.
