I wish Allegiant had more times to choose from. Both coming and going, and more days in the week to fly.

Allegiant had a sale shortly after we purchased our tickets, of course. No adjustments allowed from them. DesMoines, like other smaller airports, is relatively pleasant to fly in or out of. From the time we arrived until we were at our departure gate was maybe 10 minutes. The flight itself was nearly an hour late arriving from LA--Allegiant said it was because they had to switch planes. The flight was quite full, so they gate-checked many carry-ons at no charge. The crew was very friendly--we enjoyed their pre-flight banter. You pay for everything, of course, but prices were not unreasonable. No entertainment system at all on their planes. Seats were OK--we had exit row (for a price) so plenty of leg room. Typical wait at baggage claim in LAX. Leaving LAX was not as pleasant. Had a great deal of trouble finding the correct gate--they didn't spend much on signs. Same crew on the return flight. Also gate-checked some carry-ons at no charge. No wait at baggage claim in DSM. All in all better than expected.

“Average trip. After all the fees my ticket was very high. Went $218 to $315. Horrible”

Don't beleive the hype. These arilines will kill you with hiddent fees. Airfare watchdog advertised flights at $218. After the fees and baggage my ticket jumped over $100. This did not even included picking a great seat. Going my ticket stated Continental and I ended up checking in at United. Confusing. Got to Denver from DSM for layover and they changed our Gate 3 times. We got lots of exercise that day. Flight was a bit delayed but pilot made excellent time and we arrived safely. No food was served on flight. No surprise. Returning to DSM cked in at United was sent back to Continental :( Confusing. Flew into Houston, TX for layover. Received free lunche on flight. Wonderful! Was extremely squished next to 2 big guys :( Had to hang in qilse and kept getting hit for 2hours!
