We went on our honeymoon to Key West we left

March 11,2013. We arrived at the Airport early enough 1 1/2 hours early however once we went to check in we were told that we could not take the carry on because Key West had strict guidelines on carry on luggage. Now keep in mind I checked on line what we could take and it said one check in, one personal item ( IE.. Purse,Laptop) and one carry on luggage. So thats exactly what we had so I told the lady this and she didnt seem to care and when I asked what we could do she said " I would put your stuff in the carry on in your luggage you are checking. I said what do we do with the carry on luggage then she said " dont know maybe take it back to your car" now that ment we had to get a shuttle back to our car and back and not miss out flight. The whole entire expierence was a nightmare.

So long story we got the luggage back to the car, our luggage was a pound over each they wanted to charge and addtional $95.00 but we took stuff out and carried it.

We got to Atlanta airport where people were boarding to our next Delta flight and wow they had carry on luggage the same size as we were told in Dayton we could not take because Key West has very strict policy on carry ons????? So I asked people were they came from and to my surprise they flew from Dayton as well but they were allowed.

Hmmmmm I went to the desk and they said im not sure why you were told that we will put things under the plane if necessary.

So I called and the lady on the phone said there is no such policy and apologized and offered to pay for our luggage back well that would be great but we were flying US Air back due to the time restrictions coming back on March 18th. So she gave us two $100.00 vouchers to be used in a year.

Nice right but we want to return to Key West for our one year anniversory and guess what Delta is the highest of all flights to Key West so we would end up paying even more and using the vouchers so they really dont do us any good. We cant transfer them so its really an empty gesture.

Dont fly Delta... PS ... my luggage also looked as if it had been chewed by a large animal while it was in flight....
