It was an ok flight. I enjoyed listening to the air traffic controllers live on the channel 9 that United Airlines provides freer of charge for their passengers.

I was absolutely blown away by what a modern airline could provide. Virgin America has nailed it. Screens in every seat, comfortable seats, leg room, incredible service, satellite tv, wi-fi access, internet shows, thousands of audio tracks, movies on demand, quality food and drinks that aren't outrageously priced, ordered from seat and there within a minute. First time I can ever remember being excited to get on a flight back. Felt like a giddy kid going on a Disneyland ride. Willing to pay a couple hundred to fly them over other carriers and mean it.

It was a good trip. Check-in went well, we had no luggage to check and there was ample room for our carry-on's. There is still a lot of delay in boarding as passengers block the aisles. There should be some workable solution. Both legs of the trip left near the scheduled time and both arrived at the destination early.

I voluntarily gave up my seat on the 3:30 flight out of Dallas to San Francisco when the airline downsized the plane from a 767 to a 757 due to maintenance problems. I was promised a seat on the 6:05 and a flight voucher for $300. By the time the agent were through reassigning seats for the 3:30 flight I was told that there were no longer any seats on the 6:05. I was put on the 7:30 flight and given a "meal voucher" in the amount of $10 for the inconvenience. The 7:30 flight inbound was about 15 minutes late, but we boarded in short order. We then sat waiting to leave until the pilot came on to tell us that the instrument panel lights had failed. Nearly an hour later, with no word as to progress of the repairs and no offer of drinks or snacks, we began to taxi away from the terminal. We cam to a halt and a flight attendant got on the intercom stating "We cannot leave the terminal while anyone is in the lavatory! Please return to your seat." Way to blame the passengers! The man sitting next to me told me that he had been on the 3:30 flight and that the plane had barely made it onto the runway when the captain came on to tell them that they had to return to the terminal due to a fuel pump problem. Sheesh!

American flight going to SF was full but we left early and arrived early . . . plane was a MD80 but everyone seemed to find space for their bags. Nothing to complain about. Returning, same full flight, left late, and circled DFW for an hr due to a storm. After an hour was diverted to San Antonio for fuel. We ended up arriving 4 hrs late. Pilots kept us informed; FAs passed out granola bars and water. Not AA's fault about the storm, they handled it the best they could.
