Having made NO announcement to turn off electronics the attendant rudely told my husband to turn off his iPad (which was on airplane mode), then told him she has "said it 10 times" (NOT), then made an announcement "I've said it 10 times, please turn off your electronics" in a testy, rude voice. Then after disembarking, I stopped on the SIDE of the traffic area and a pilot bumped into me and then turned around and said sarcastically "nice place to stop!" I was NOT in the traffic lane. Flying is definitely not what it use to be. Don't these people realize that they have a job because of me and the rest of the flying public.

Big planes removed from service - small planes were late, cramped and uncomfortable. No information from United, but I knew why. Do they think we are idiots? No perks to ease the discomfort or build favour for United/Continental changes, either.

Air travel is not ever really fun anymore. A good flight is one where there are no glitches and this one was just that.

There is a good reason to upgrade seats as United's web site encourages you to do. There is no leg room in the seats behind the emenergy exits -- the seats that come with the purchase price of the ticket. Even though I have short legs, I could barely move my legs. I feel sorry of any individual of average leg length. Sitting in these seats is nearly impossible, especially on a long flight. What a shame, for everything else about the United flight was excellent -- the counter help, the stewards, the baggage handling. But it is hard to feel grateful when you feel you have been sitting in a child's chair for 5 long hours.

Airports anymore are so crowded along with the planes. With the charges on check ins it causes more carry ons bigger and the overheads fill up fast. I saw those mad and frustrated that they have no place for carry ons if they are the last on the plane. I don't like flying anymore-We only do it because we don't have the time to drive. The hassle and crowds make it almost not worth the effort.

After 3 gate changes we boarded the plane for Oregon only to be told that there was a maintenance problem related to stopping and that it should be fixed quickly. When it became apparent that it could not be fixed quickly, everyone was asked to get off the plane and wait for it to be fixed. Passengers were given $5.00 meal vouchers but before everyone had got a meal, passengers were told they could reboard and the flight took off about 3 hours later than scheduled. Flight attendants were polite and we recognize that it is better to have a delay than to have a problem on landing. The return flight was much better and was only about 20 minutes late taking off.

Out bound check in, priority security line and boarding all went fine. The flight attendant was friendly and the service was fine except they ran out of one of the dinner selections (something that happens way too often on AA). Return flight was uneventful as was the lunch which was pretty poor a salad with some chicken on top. It was better than the cheeseburger lunch that I had on a previous first class domestic. The seats were standard MD80 domestic first class, nothing really inspired and of course no foot rests.
