This flight departed from Terminal D which is DFW's International terminal. What a long wait and back up for the security screening. I waited 1 hour and 30 minutes in line to leave me running to the gate to catch the flight. Everyone had already boarded, but they hadn't left the gate yet. So I was still allowed on. Turns out, the aircraft was having some maintenance done and it was delayed leaving by about 30 minutes. American airlines was great, but TSS and their screening was horrible.

This was our first time flying AirTran and it was a good experience. Check in was easy and fast, the plane boarded and departed on time and we landed early! The inflight service was good; no better/worse than any other airline. Every employee we encountered was smiling and friendly.

Family trip and I would rate our experience as good. No problems. It was very crowded at both airports. The airplane was full. I am only 5'2" and I had no leg room. It seems all airlines are packing everyone to the limit. I know this is because of cost....however it would be nice to move around a little in your chair. I also think in flight movies are good. There were quite a few children on our flight and a movie would help keep them quiet. I do plan on flying with AirTran again in the fall...they have the best rates by far.

The price was great, only about $150 per person PLUS taxes and fees. Seats were only OK and had very little leg room but that's standard practice these days. We were quite surprised when we were served breakfast! A whole banana, cereal, and 1/2 pint of milk. Also, beverages--coffee plus OJ. We NEVER get that on American Airlines, our usual transport from DFW to visit relatives in DC. On our return flight, Continental fed us supper!! A whole sandwich!
