    If you buy a discounted ticket, you cannot fly stand-by unless you pay more, EVEN if the plane flies with EMPTY seats. You must have an "anytime" ticket in order to stand-by without extra payment. Unbelievable!

    If you have to get from Dallas to Austin fast, and as a business traveller I do, flying United from the two cities is the way to go. It takes only a half hour! Great value when you are in a rush.
