For three years I've been flying AirTran but now that they are leaving DFW, The fares have doubled. My usual one-way DFW-ATL-RIC that I could get between $84-$124, will now cost me $193. Thanks Southwest, I'll never fly you (well, unless you decide to fly into Richmond, and then I'd have to make 3 stops)....

Since 2006, my wife and I have been securing gate passes from the airline counter agents to either meet or greet my minor son at the gate at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. Most recently, my son flew on American Airlines and landed in Atlanta on July 09, 2011 (flight 1472). My wife and I secured gate passes from the American counter in Atlanta to meet my son at the gate. For his departing flight on July 30, 2011 (flight 1699) we again went to the counter to secure gate passes to see him safely board the plane. On this day, however, we were told only one of us could accompany my son to the gate. When I explained to the American agent that on his trip here we were both provided with gate passes, she inferred that we were dishonest and stated that only one person could accompany a passenger. I even pointed out the agent who previously gave us a pass as she was also working the counter. This individual denied providing us with gate passes. I have been flying my son back-and-forth for the last six years on a variety of airlines and this was the first time I have ever been told this was an “airport” policy much less being publically humiliated at the counter. If you enjoy the unexpected and you long to conduct business with an airlines that is always “right” then by all means take this culturally un-American adventure and fly American!

Left midday for a change and still experienced an easy online pre-board, on time flight, with open next seat helping expand space. Returned on my usual last flight mid plane window seating, enjoying again open next seat. We did change gates to leave late due to incoming delays, and some seemed more upset with that. There was some initial baby screaming and that calmed shortly, thank goodness for the baby and all on board. I have come to favor AirTran flights and was disappointed to hear that seat choices may leave with the uniting with Southwest.

Enjoyed easy time in airport, although gate was moved and flight was 30 minutes late taking off.

Onboard, passengers were friendly and not pestering. Attendants were helpful, not bothersome. Flight not overcrowded. One child screaming at the beginning and end of flight. Otherwise a peaceful, comfortable time.

The flight was what I expected of it. No frills and got me there on time. Would like to see no bagage fees, but that should be done when Southwest buys them out.

My flight from DFW to Atlanta was a delightful experience. The stewards were friendly and professional. Thanks to all for a smooth early morning flight. Delta should consider a little more leg room. I'm a small 5 ft. 2" 130 lbs woman & the tray table was in my chest. More leg room Delta please.........

After receiving the news from my airfarewatchdog, I was totally excited to see the fare come down low enough to book a flight for myself and son within such a short timeframe. I saved a lot and got there quick!

Thanks to the watchdog, looking out for the best rate to fly.

Been a while since I flew Delta. Now I know why. I felt like I was boarding a city bus. The flight was overbooked and overhead bins were jammed packed. I guess you get what you pay for...

Counter staff and flight attendents were friendly and efficient. Flight left on time. Only complaint was the baggage claim in Atlanta. Waited almost an hour for our luggage.

Made changes this time - I left earlier in the day, and did not check any bags. When my granddaughter dropped me off, I was anxious about the process and hoping for no problems, I found none. I had checked in on line and found that process quick and easy. I moved quickly through any lines and had a short wait time before boarding. Would like to have had a full can of juice during drink service. The flight was smooth and arrived early. The walk to baggage/pick up area is a long one from the end gates...then my ride was late!!! Irony, and luckily I enjoy the airport.
