My husband and I were flying to Missouri en route to Ft. Riley, Kansas to welcome our son home from Iraq. I was emotional about the upcoming activities and pretty tense by the time we got to the airport. It had just started to rain heavily when we checked in at the Southwest desk.
I tend to get nervous when I fly. So it didn't help that the flight out of Cleveland was delayed about 1 hour because the crew worked overtime the night before due to inclement weather and that it was still raining quite hard. But everyone from the staff at check-in to the pilots and crew put me at ease. They were actually very funny people. They kept us informed of the departure status and made jokes to keep things light.
This was the first time I'd flown in Business class and it was a wonderful experience. Southwest doesn't assign seats. So the Business class ticket holders get to board the plane first in the order of their boarding assignment numbers. That made it nice for my husband and I to find seats together.
I was also told that Southwest gives discounts to military personnel. This is just one more reason why I recommend Southwest to anyone traveling where they fly.
I have plans to travel again next month and am doing so on Southwest Airlines.
