Spirit airlines provided good value and acceptable flight conveniences for the price (<100 PP) ORD to LAX. The waiting area at ORD and LAX is crowded. Seating area is small but acceptable. Hopefully they can at least provide free water for this type of long flight.

Spirit Airlines gave me great service at a fantastic price. There were problems: The outbound flight was over 2 hours late taking off. Otherwise, everything went as planned.
The real story here is the price. If you are paying for the flight yourself as a business owner or a vacationer, there is no other airline that comes close to matching Spirit Airlines.

I so appreciate American's easy online check in and they're reliable service. I recently flew on a cheap flight on another airline during some unreliable weather and everything was delayed with NO notice to passengers and very poor customer service during and after the delays. I was so pleased that even when my first flight with American was cancelled b/c of snow it was so easy to reschedule and the staff was reliably polite.

Curbside checkin is the only way to go, it eliminates those long lines in the terminal and you go directly to the TSA screening area. The loading was done from the back to the front and except for the perk customers it went great because they didn't allow people in the front sections to board until their rows were called. service was prompt, cordial and they offered more options than other airlines do food wise. Lastly and it's hard to believe but the bags were there when we got to the baggage pickup area.

After booking realized departure and arrival dates were the same day--called American Airlines and they would do nothing. They wanted to charge $300 for 2 tickets plus the additional costs of the tickets--to the tune of $850. So it was cheaper to buy 1-way on another carrier. Obviously they resold those seats to standbys...what a rip off. Those policies and charges are crazy. As a long time customer I will avoid American Airlines like the plague!!!!

The extra leg room was worth the price. It was nice to be able to use the tray table in front of me, rather than be squashed.
Too bad the airlines treat passengers like livestock and squeeze as many as they can into a plane. The creature comfort of SPACE is now a perk that we pay for. They do nothing to instill loyalty. If Midwest flew to all the places I fly, I would never use another airline. They got it right.

Flight attendent could not tell person next to me how to turn on her light because 'she was tired'; flight attendent forgot to serve dessert to 3 people in 1st class.; seat was broken/wouldn't recline. staff seemed tired and angry.

Surprisingly was pretty smooth for American. the service was ok and I pretty much knew what to expect. But by chance the in flight entertainmtent turned out to be exactly what I wanted - Shrek IV followed by an episode of Office. So my 4 hrs of flight went pretty well.

From the beginning it was bad.. the flight crew was late. They even announced it that they were trying to locate them. Then the plane needed fuel (duh), but it was over fueled so they asked for three passengers to get off to level out the weight. Once we arrived at MEM there was no gate for us so they let us off on the tarmac. The help desk in Memphis was inconsiderate and rude. They were of no help.

No leg room. Even the earbuds cost money! They even said after boarding only one group that there was no room for overhead luggage and everyone would have to check in their rollers!
