First flight 0586 from Cancun was very bumpy due to weather, but arrived just a few minutes late. Arriving at ORD from Mexico we were directed to THE VISITORS line, even though we were citizens and told the customs agent exactly this. The person MADE us go in that line. As the line was moving so slowly,due to fingerprinting of visitors, eventually the guy told us to go into the CITIZENS line which we should have been in from the beginning, but we were put at the end of the line with no regard to flight times, so customs took over an HOUR, which made us late for our flights. I RAN to the shuttle and terminal 1, arriving at the checkin to speak to the rudest person in the world. My connecting flight, 7585 had been delayed due to mechanical maintenance , so they were still sitting there, but she wouldn't let me board. When I arrived, the plane had not pushed away yet. I had to take a later flight from another terminal. This was my first flight with United, my first flight into ORD and I hope the absolute last. Rude and incompetent customs personnel, rude and nasty United checkin agent. The flight itself was fine, it's the airport and the people getting you there that are the problem!
