The check-in experience was great. Now it hardly takes any time at all-- no more waiting in line. The process starts getting less pleasant when boarding begins. Now that there are baggage fees, everyone is anxious to get on board as soon as possible while space in the overhead bins is still available. I had to use a bin 6 rows behind my seat, so retrieving that bag when the plane landed was a nightmare. I felt like a salmon swimming upstream. Our in-flight service consisted of a beverage, and I don't think the flight attendants like doing that. I would love to get a smile from one during a flight. The seat was extremely hard, and the rear pocket on the seat in front of me was filled with trash. I really shouldn't complain too much because the flight arrived safely and on time. The other aspects just take the pleasure out of flying.

Late taking off. Got stuck sitting next to children who did not shut up the entire flight and mother didn't do anything about it. Need a family section on every flight. Why should I pay these high prices to be stuck with noisy kids. Flight from Atlanta to Portland had no WiFi, music, TV, or movie service. YEA five hour flight no entertainment and kids again that ran up and down the plane. Took 2 hours to get food and drink service. Flying used to be enjoyable.

you have to check in at the self check or wait forever. I called delta to find out if i could check bag to atl (wanted to get off there) and was told i could but alas it was a lie. when i got to the airport they assured me i could not. do not believe delta's indian call center. also, this may be an industry wide problem but there was a super obese person on our plane both ways, and they are allowed to have only one seat when their bottom actually takes up two, and there were some unhappy people who had to seat on a small sliver of seat for over 4 hours. in both cases the seat mate called over the stewardess who said their was nothing she could do (every seat was taken).

The boarding process was chaotic--people with too many and too large carry-ons. As a result, the plane left late from Atlanta. The flight attendants were annoyed but did nothing to improve the situation. They were rather unpleasant the entire flight which was completely full. The sound on the movie was poor. The airline overcharges for drinks. All in all, I've decided to avoid Delta in the future.

The flights from Charlotte to Denver and Denver to Portland on May 12 were as uncomfortable as any I've ever taken. There was almost no leg room. From a positive view, both flights were on time. The return flight Portland to Philadelphia was also cramped, but the flight from Philadelphia to Charlotte was on a Boeing 767 and the seats were much more comfortable and there appeared to be a couple of inchest more leg room. Again, both flights were on time.
