We were scheduled to leave Charlotte on July 13 on flight #318 at 7:01 and arrive in Baltimore at 8:25. Then we would take #64 to Portland at 9:15.
Only it didn't happen.
318 was delayed until 8:22, making the Portland connection impossible.
The ticket clerks (2 of them, including the supervisor), were unable to re-route us in any way to get us to Portland. Only option: Go on to BWI Tuesday night, wait around all day Wednesday, and take #64 to Portland Wednesday night at 9:15.
We cancelled the trip and went back home since our Portland stay was only going to be for 3 days and we would lose a third of it!
Some friends had the same flight plan scheduled for July 17. The same thing happened to them.
The AirTran employees were extremely nice, but the scramble for flights was ridiculous.

We were going from Charlotte to Baltimore where we would connect with a flight to Portland, ME.
The departure from Charlotte was delayed to the point that we were not going to be able to connect at BWI to continue to Portland. Two clerks worked on our problem. They were extremely nice and patiently searched for solutions, but there were none. All we could do was fly to BWI and remain there until the following night to catch a flight to PWM, thereby lobbing off a whole day of our trip. We opted to have the trip credited to our account and try again later. Disappointing and tiring, but we appreciated the sympathetic efforts of the AirTran employees. Note: Site wouldn't let me submit without giving ratings above. Obviously, they are bogus.
