Electric difficulties and no air conditioning, so instead of letting us off the plane until it was fixed, we sat on that hot, stuffy plane for almost two hours. I started having a panic attack and had to get out of my seat and roam around and ask for some water to calm down. The air temp between first class and economy was probably about 10 degrees, so I stayed in the isle up there for as long as the airline personnel let me. Whew. And the return fight home was even worse! Emergency landing in Omaha, NE because of another electrical problem and smoke in the cockpit. We sat in the airport for almost 8 hours before getting another flight. And then weather in Chicago grounded all incoming and outgoing flights, so we sat on that plane for about an hour and a half, and again, very, very hot and humid. I am very glad the pilot cared enough about all of us to land the plane that was in trouble. My major concerns are not letting passengers off of a hot, humid plane instead of having to sit on the tarmac for up to two hours. I don't see where letting us off to wait in the airport by the gate would take much longer once the plane was actually ready for departure . . .
