We made reservations in March of 2010 and when we traveled in Aug. we had no seats assigned upon arrival at airport 2 l/2 hours early, said we would get seat assignment upon someone opened the gate area prio to boarding, no one show up until time to board, was then advised they did not have enough seats for all of us, (4 in our party). We finally got on the plane thanks to someone who agreed to take later flight, we had a connecting flight in Chicago so we could not wait. We had seat assignments for the flight from Chicago to St.Louis. We arrived late in Chicago and again were told when we got to that gate that they did not have enough seats, miracliously seats became available but NOT the seats assigned to us. This was a nightmare!! Do not know if we will EVER fly United again.
