We were flying with a one-year-old -- and not our first time, though the first time (and last) on American with her. Disorganized and conflicting information about gate check procedures at all stops. We had to fight them to board early to get our car seat installed (hard enough as it is but 10x worse on a plane full of people). We just encountered irritable, unfriendly staff the whole way. They ran out of sandwiches before halfway down the plane and there were no headphones for sale on the first leg.
Steering clear of American from here on out.

It all went well except for the flight down. We were diverted to New Orleans, supposedly for fueling. However, there had been a passenger needing medical assistance on the flight from Boston. If that was the case, you would have thought the airline would have told us that. Seemed really strange that they wouldn't have enough fuel to get from Boston to Houston. I mean, they know the weather, wind, distance, everything before the flight departs!
The return trip was great. No problems. Although, going through customs and immigration in Houston is confusing. We made it though!

I was upgraded to first class on this flight, but my travel companion was in economy. The flight attendants were incredibly friendly and accommodating; they even took drinks and food back to my boyfriend in economy class.
The check-in experience was a little annoying. I tried to confirm an upgrade for my travel companion, so I called Continental and they said everything was all set. Then, when I showed up at the gate, the gate agent said that I did not follow the appropriate procedure. Every gate agent I talked to at the different airports I went through (BOS, ATL, and SJO) had a different explanation.
