This used to be my favorite airline, but after a roundtrip to PHX, I will not fly with them again. After checking in and given the gate number, I walked all the way down to the farthest end of the concourse to my gate. After 1/2 hr we were told our gate changed to the very opposite end of the concourse. Once on board, a flight attendent announced two beverage services: once shortly after takeoff and the other an hour before landing. The first one happened. Then the flight attendents seemed to disappear. 1/2 hr from landing I was so parched I rang for someone to bring me some water. Everyone else started asking for water & drinks so they finally had the other beverage service, which was rather rushed so close to landing. Return flight wasn't much better. Our flight was delayed a couple of hours (bad weather the day before) because the pilots hadn't arrived yet. I asked the gate attendent "Will we begin boarding before or after the pilots arrive?" I was thinking of buying a drink, remembering the 1st flight, and wanted to know if I'd have enough time. The response was: the plane will begin boarding before the pilots arrive so by the time they get here, we'll be ready for takeoff. So I skipped getting a drink only to sit there and wait until the pilots arrived - only then did we get to board. Back home everyone was waiting for thir luggage. They lied to my face! Once we landed, there were 3 different flights assigned to the same carousel at the same time and it was packed. After about 1/2 hour, when no one on our flight received any luggage, they moved our flight to a different carousel, only to have it break down after a couple of bags. It took an hour before I finally got my suitcase.

This flight was on time, comfortable, and landed a little early. The on-board TV makes the time pass quickly. The in-flight service was fantastic... flight attendants were friendly and entertaining. I like that we get a choice of snacks, and we can have as many as we like. (My flight home, on a different airline, didn't offer anything to eat unless you paid for it.) Drinks were plentiful - offering a full can if you wanted soda, and water was offered several times during the flight.

Good flight, average service, no television, extra fees:food-just palatable, seat fees-crazy, baggage fees-outrages, so many carry-ons makes boarding longer and more dangerous-isn't the same amount of fuel used if baggage below or above???

Boston only has 1 N/S to PHX, on USAir. If you don't get an exit row, then First is the only way to make this tolerable. Being 6'4", getting stuffed in coach is tough, so First is much better. Food and seats need upgraded, no entertainment onboard, makes for a long flight. At least no stops. Staff is hit-or-miss, some are great some hate being there.

Traveling first class just for the extra leg room and wider seat and a pillow makes a cross country trip tolerable. The food is still pretty poor, so no great perk there. U.S. left late due to a little boy throwing up..That was unavoidable.... The stewardess finally started to dig in and help clean up the mess as it took the clean-up crew way too long to arrive. Staff was pleasant.

I have nothing but great things to say about the employees, cordial, attentive and very helpful. I'm 56 and use to fly frequently for work, but haven't flown much the last 5 years. I flew Southwest to Las Vegas a couple of times with no issues, these Delta flights on their AB320's are sardine cans, I don't believe I've grown in the past 10 years, I've been 6' 1" for as long as I can remember and I was so incredibly uncomfortable, my knees were in my chest, I'm sorry, but Delta, thank goodness this was a rewards flight, I will NEVER pay to fly Delta. Great crews, on time but you went too far in cramming us in.

Supposed to go from Boston to Wash DC to Phoenix, yet the flight went from Wash DC to Memphis without explanation. Delta desk person horrid, repeatedly saying to check the flight board like a nasty automaton offering no explanation for this change. Was supposed to land in Phoenix 9:30 pm. Due to waiting for a "part", delayed for hours. After multiple inquiries, that desk person announced they'd give out $6 vouchers to buy food at airport. That was at 7:30 pm. yet all food vendors closed at 7:00 pm! Finally got in to Phoenix at 3:00 am! Delta is awful.

I flew from BOS to PHX (with a layover at IAH) a few years ago for my brother-in-law's wedding. It wasn't a bad flight, check in relatively easy with United, standard in-flight service for a domestic flight. I just remember the gates being really far a part from in IAH so we really had to book it in order to catch our next flight!

My flight was on time, my bags arrived, the gate agents and flight attendants were all polite and provided basic service. All in all - it is what I expect - a fairly hassle free experience.
