surprisingly comfortable seats, reasonable leg room but minimal service......6 hr+ flight with overhead screen- crummy movie, poor tv choices; crew forgot request for water, long wait for drink cart, no snacks only costly food to buy, crew seemed disinterested, kudos to pilot for handling rough air 3hr delay due to FAA reg re: maintenance should have led to some accomodation for all...a free alcohol drink, a snack......nothing done at all.....plane to arrive at 10pm got in 2:30 am..requiring me to pay for hotel [grrrrr] as it was too late to connect with host party

It was a full flight so we took off a little late, but made up the time flying and arrived on time.

The American Airline jet still had ash trays in the armrests and bathrooms! Tiny overhead bins. Cramped seats. Very bumpy flight. Inflight service was ok though and movie was free. No comparison to Virgin America though.

Friendly staff, great entertainment system, we were on time both ways, air fares were cheap, no hassles. Having a plug for my laptop was great, wish it had worked on the way back. Another gripe: the asian eggplant sandwich I bought tasted good but the bread was really soggy. Otherwise, thumbs up. I joined their frequent flier program.

The flight was uneventful, which is a good thing. The plane arrived 20 minutes early, but we had to wait 15 minutes on the ground waiting for a gate to open up. I will fly Virgin America again!

Be sure to bring your own food. Their options are packaged snacks in a box for $6. Outbound, I paid extra for a seat next to emergency door, which is unnecessary unless you are tall. The regular seat on my return was fine.

I booked a fantastic vacation to Hawaii with a stop over in LA. the flight from Boston to LA was the worst flight i have ever taken. The American Airlines aircraft was the same one that i flew in when i was doing extensive travel in the 70's and 80's. they have not updated this leg with current cumforatable aircraft at all. I accumulate points for American but i have changed the way i am accumulating. i now will only fly Virgin America or Jet Blue. at this point the cost does not matter.

planes are clean, leather seats, flights are on time (even arrived early to Boston), the modern reality kicks in - pay for a bag to check in 25, pay for internet $13 - day time, $6 - night time, movies $8, pay for food. Did provide one soft drink though. The only negative about the airbus is that the seats are located in two rows of 3, so if you are seated by the window and need to go, you have to move 2 people, who are often asleep. Overall though, very positive experience.

The biggest issue, outside of legroom, is the fact that to avoid the checked bag fee, a lot of people take the largest "carry-ons" possible. Most of them are too big, and it's allowed, anyway. At LAX the gate agents pleaded with us to volunteer to gate check bags....reward was to board first. It worked for us, because we figured we'd have to gate check anyway...there's never enough room if you happen to be in a later group. Virgin America was nicer about it than some airlines, but the issue is there isn't enough room for all the people trying to avoid the checked bag fee.

Recently flew from Boston to LA round trip on JetBlue. The seats were very comfortable with plenty of room. My son and I have it all figured out. He takes the aisle seat and I take the window seat so we are both happy. A poor stranger gets the middle seat which we both despise. The only issue was that my televison screen was intermitten on the way out to LA, so I slept most of the way.

I flew from Boston to LAX on JetBlue back in December. Both flights (from/to) were packed and made for a rather uncomfortable flight even in the upgraded seats with a bit more room. I made the mistake of taking the red-eye as the return flight and found out that I am getting to old to not sleep through the night. The airline crew were nice and friendly. The plane left on time and arrived on time so no complaints there. Overall I would recommend this flight and airline.
