Check in was an uncrowded and fast affair. The only negative is the Lufthansa lounge at Logan, not the best. That explains my not-so-perfect score at check-in.
Although we boarded on time, the flight was delayed because of a flat tire. It was refreshing to hear the captain explain exactly what was going on and also explain how it would affect our arrival time. Clearly, the captain was concerned about connecting flights at the other end and assured us that he would try to make up for lost time during flight, something he did.
This idea of keeping the passengers informed about items that affect the flight seems to be a Lufthansa characteristic. Ona flight to Madrid the next day, again we had a delay and again the captain explained what was going on and kept us abreast of what was being done to deal with the issue.
As a frequent flier, I really appreciate candid and frequent information about what is going on with my flights. Nice.
On this flight, food and service were excellent and the seats were very comfortable.
