The most noteworthy thing about flying Delta internationally is that they use really old planes. The upside to this is that you get more leg room. The downside is that the seats don't have the handy headrests, and you have to watch movies on the communal screen in the front.

Checking in was frustrating--we missed our flight due to apocolyptically bad traffic and had to pay over $300 each to change our flights. The next day, we checked in 90 minutes prior to the flight and were apparently too late to receive seat assignments. Overall, it was a primitive and frustrating experience and made me much less interested in flying Delta in the future.
