Flight was uneventful, on my return flight, the accent of the head steward was difficult to understand at times, but the flight crew were professional

Quick trip for wedding in SC. Flights were on time and planes were full. Short flight meant not mcuh time to serve cabin. and flight attendents not in the best of mode on both flights. Like the E175 jet. 2 seats on each side and very comfortable.

I was forced to gatecheck my bag not because it was too large for an overhead bin (it certainly isn't) but rather because a US Air employee "determined" that the overhead bins were full when in fact they were very far from full. He/she radioed/signaled to the gate agent to gatecheck all carry-ons. The plane departed with multiple overhead bins empty due to this incorrect determination/announcement by a US Air employee. During the boarding process the gate agent announced subsequent boarding zones before the previous boarding group had been processed. Customers cut into the boarding line because the gate agent announced that Zone 4 customers could board before she had processed all of the Zone 3 customers. If she had waited until Zone 3 customers had been processed before making the Zone 4 announcement the issue would not have occurred.
