Atlanta was hit by a snow and ice storm starting in the middle of the night. I was to leave early that next morning and woke early to watch the news. Delta would not cancel the flight, despite the bad weather and the state of emergency that was called. They waited until 1.5 hours before the flight was to leave. At that point I should have been at the airport going to security (on Monday morning you need to be there 2-1.5 hours before your flight). I crossed my fingers and made a decision not to go to the airport. I would have been stranded at the airport for 3 days had I not taken this risk!!! Delta just can't get their act together! Orbitz notified my of the cancelation 1/2 hour before Delta...SLOW!

American Airlines need to upgrade their planes. The plane was small. This was the first time I've been on a flight where the passengers boarded the plane from the front to the back, bumping into people that were already seated. Then the flight attendant giving instructions sounded as if she'd rather be doing something else and had a tone that you use for children who should know better. Otherwise, the flight was smooth and we landed on time. There was an attendant who served us drinks with a smile the entire time she was giving out sodas, etc. That was a plus.

Full flights, tight seats, short pitch. At the back of an MD80 on return so really noisy. Food was dry pretzels - yuck. As I said, typical Delta - not really a pleasant experience (but not really any worse than any large US airline). But with one exception, and not one I'm used to on Delta, both flights were on time and we didn't have to wait for a gate to open up.

With the new baggage fees, people are carrying on more items. There were people with more than the personal plus 1 carry-on. Therefore, not all luggage would fit into overhead and they were taking carry-on luggage and checking it. The airlines need to adhere to the 1 personal plus 1 carry-on rule.

Air Tran's service could be better when retrieving our luggage. We stopped to use the restroom once off of the plane. By the time we got to baggage claim, they had already removed the remaining luggage and we had to search for our bags!We did not take that long to use the bathroom; it still should have been there.

American Airlines charges $25 per 1st checked bag and the overhead for carry-ons is not very roomy. The seats are very uncomfortable. They don't provide much leg or arm room. I sat between my husband and another gentleman and I felt like a sandwich. I'm just glad my flight wasn't a long one. They offer only complimentary beverages also, no snacks.

Airtan customer service needs alot of help. The fllight attendants were yelling at customers as if they were kids. The baggage claim attendant was extremely rude. Yelling at customers to have their claim checks ready before they left the airport. If the claim checks were not ready the attendant chastised the customers as if we were stupid.

Not to mention the airplane leaked while in the air and the flight attendant told me to stuff the leak with papertowels and thats all she can do. She then asked (outloud) if anyone had a bandaid and some duct tape. I understand there is nothing that can be done about the leak while we are in the air. It not what you say but how you say it. I hope Airtran gets their stuff together soon.
