The flight over was horrible. We had the last row of seats. Both my husband and myself r tall and were cramped the entire flight. Because of being in the last row the seats barely reclined. On top of that the air hostesses were rude and very unfriendly. Once the horrible meal was served and we tried to sleep...the air hostesses talked in the back loudly (continuously) and banged the "cabinets" shut for 30+ minutes. The lights would in the cabin would come on just when u woudl doze off.
The returning flight was thru KLM (DELTA ran) but better. A day flight..food was better and staff a little more friendly. The only prob was we were travelling with a five year old and they separated us all and did not try to accommodate us at all. Thank goodness I was able to make arrangements with another passenger. Both flights were overbooked also ( therefore had no wiggle room for seat assignments). Seems to me that they would use a bigger aircraft when this problem arises..surely they know before time!

In-flight service, including food, was terrible ... nothing at all like Delta of old. Shame that profit rules all levels of customer service now. Been flying Delta for upwards of 30-years so feel I am a bit of an expert. (This flight also had no ear plugs or eye masks ... new news, too.)

Except for the amount of legroom -- we were pleasantly surprised by the food, service and cleanliness of Delta. The food was very good. There was a nice offering and even breakfast and dinner on the way home. (Eating dinner at 10:30 PM going to London was a little off-putting tho.) We weren't bored -- there was a nice selection of movies and TV shows, as well as computer games to pass the time. Our only complaint is that the legroom, or room in general is not very comfortable for such a long flight (particularly if you are tall). Even if you lean back. This is especially apparent if your seats are in the middle aisle!
Otherwise, we were very happy with the flight.

I was bitten as I entered the aircraft.The Staff were totally disinterested,the food was disgusting,no dog would attempt to eat it,the spacing of the seats are an insult to paying passengers and if I can help it I will never fly Delta again.
I have flown two long haul flights with Delta and both have been less than satisfactory.
The check-in was good and the wheelchair driver was very courteous but thats where it stopped.

A 2-3-2 seating arrangement (a 767?). We, two seniors, in center and aisle of the middle three. Heavy guy on the opposite aisle seat, commandeered the internal armrest and spread his bulky left leg into the center's space. Cramped seat arrangement to began with, compounded by narrow seats fit for TV models (yet a 767 is said to have 18 inches of width...A 757, 3-3 arrangement, is narrower @ 17 inches!). An agonizing 10 hours, with (believe it or not) a flight plan that took us over Iceland (hello, ash!!!) and south over Scotland. International economy travel is for the young, fit yoga types or those deadened by drugs or alcohol.
