This was the last flight of a very long series (~29 hours from Capetown to Johannesburg to Atlanta to Detroit). To our surprise and delight, we had been upgraded to "business elite". This was my first experience with that type of "capsule" seating. Being able to completely lay down (the "ZZZ" button) was heavenly! Having a couple bloody Mary's to relax didn't hurt either! This made a very pleasant ending to our first African adventure--a great trip, but filled with a lion's share of travel issues. Thanks, Delta! :-)

The people doing the check-in at the counter and at the gate were rude. The flight left ~40 minutes late because the pilots were not available. Many people were going to miss connections because of the delay.

It's kinda what I expect now.

I did have a row of three seats all to myself though.

The pre-flight spiel in departure from Atlanta was very entertaining as a harmonica was used to emphasize each point. The guy drew an ovation.

Atlanta was quicker and easier check-in than Detroit. I paid cash for my check-in in Atlanta but Detroit said he couldn't deal in cash. I really didn't want to use my credit card.

On my return flight, I was seated next to a rather large lady. It would have been helpful if the seats were bigger and she didn't hang over into my space.

The flight itself was fine, however, the airline employee's customer service was horrible and the constant changing of flight information was annoying.
