Charging for checked-in baggage has created a crush of carry-on bags. So much so it now takes twice as long to board the plane and if you're one of the last ones on you'll have to give your bag to the flight attendant to be checked in at the gate.

The gate attendant was not friendly at all on the first flight that we missed at gate C3. She wouldn't hold the door and we were at C12 gate.

overall not a bad flight, polite attendants both ways easy to get through security in atlanta, little tougher and ruder in boston, but overall not bad

our bags were 10 lbs over and not only cost us the $15.00 to ship them but$100.00 more to get them to go on the plane...10 lousy pounds.over the 50 allowed. for a hundred extra bucks...we will never fly airtran again...

seats made for people real small.

snack was 2 1" crackers and a small plastic cup of soda...

    never airtran again.

It's has been my experience lately that Delta has actually stepped up their game. Last year, Delta flights I and family members took were extremely delayed or cancelled with no apologies. My most recent flight was excellent by comparison. The economy seats seemed roomier, and the beverage cups were larger than I remember...especially when compared to the cups on the AirTran flight I took the previous weekend. I am flying Delta again this weekend, so I will post my review next week! Happy flying!

Although the flight departure was delayed by 20 minutes due to "missing" flight attendants, the trip was uneventful. The person in the adjacent seat occupied more room than she paid for, but that's the rule rather than the exception these days. The in-flight announcements were much more understandable than average thanks to the lead flight attendant's diction and pacing.

Refreshments were generously offered in two passes thru the economy cabin.

All in all, a slightly above average coach experience.

AS ALWAYS THE FLIGHT LEFT LATE - RAN US FROM ONE END OF THE TERMINAL TO THE OTHER AS GATES CHANGED. I HAD A TEENAGER SITTING NEXT TO ME THAT FELL ASLEEP AND KEPT TAKING UP HALF MY SEAT AND LEG ROOM. AS USUAL I HAD TO SIT HALF IN THE AISLE. I JUST WILL NEVER LEARN..... then I take a cheap Spirit flight and my luck is great - never had a flight that left late and never had to change gates for a trip once a month for a year!!!!!And paid only $8 each way every time. FIGURE.....

It really was a totally uneventful flight to Boston; upon return, there was a bit of turbulence upon approaching Atlanta. Otherwise, a pleasant trip!
