I sat beside one man, across from a second, and kittykorner to a third, all off whom coughed frequently during the flight. Not one had the good sense or good manners to cough into his elbow or use a handkerchief. Five days later, I had a whopping bad cold.

I spoke with the flight attendant and suggested that flight announcements should include information on minimizing the spread of germs by coughing into one's elbow. A shame that people don't have the good sense to do this. And given that air in a plane is recirculated, the spread of germs is far more efficient than otherwise.

Aside from that, the Phoenix airport is probably one of the worst I've ever been in: poor traffic control, too few departure/arrival signs, few helpful airport staff.
