On the first leg of my flight our plane was delayed on a Monday because there was a storm over the weekend(according to USAir.) They first said it was delayed 20 minutes which soon grew to 40 and then we finally boarded 1 hour and 15 minutes later. They had put us on a later flight out of Philly because they were afraid we wouldn't make our original connection. We sat at the gate de-icing and waiting another 30 minutes. By then they had us on the plane with no way to get off to try to make different connections. We originally had about 1 hour and 45 minutes to make our connection. By the time we arrived in Philadelphia we had 5 minutes to get to our gate which was in a totally different area. We expected to be picked up by an airport cart and that our plane would wait for us. After all it was a codeshare with United and it was the last flight to Denver until the morning with no other possible connections, even if we added another stop to our original flight. Needless to say neither happened; and to make matters worse they told us we were on our own because it was weather related and they would just give us a discount for the room. They would put us on the first flight out in the morning. I used frequent flyer miles for my trip and generally they give better service when I do. US Air gave us extremely poor service and it cost me at least $125 extra, not to mention the loss of time with my grandkids. I would never recommend US Air and I definitely will avoid going through Philadelphia at all costs.
