Just in time for the spring/summer rush, Germany's Air Berlin will expand to two new US markets. Starting May 10, Germany's Air Berlin will begin nonstop service between Las Vegas and Dusseldorf. Flights will operate twice a week, Thursdays and Sundays, departing Las Vegas at 6:00pm and arriving in Dusseldorf at 1:30pm the following day. Also in May (exact date not yet determined), Air Berlin will become the only airline to offer nonstop service between sister cities Los Angeles and Berlin.
Look for additional flights to be added to existing markets in May, including New York's JFK, Miami, and San Francisco.
Fares between Las Vegas and Dusseldorf will begin at $499 one-way, including taxes. Stay tuned for updates on Los Angeles-Berlin fares and any introductory sales.
Fly from New York to Chicago for $176 round-trip, including all taxes, on Southwest Airlines, over the Martin Luther King Jr Day holiday.
Nonstop itineraries available as well (for a few dollars more) on these dates. Similarly priced fares valid for travel on other dates as well, 7 days a week, for travel through February 14.
The current sale from Frontier is valid for travel through March 7, Monday through Saturday. Avoid blackout dates: December 22-23, 26-28 2011 and January 1-3, 7 and February 17 and 20. Tickets require a 14-day advance purchase. Nevermind that Frontier says this sale expires December 15 (a mistake, we're guessing, since this sale was posted to their site just today).
