We get all kinds of interesting questions here at Airfarewatchdog HQ in beautiful midtown Manhattan. Most of these come by email and end up being just one-on-one affairs between us and you, and often they're (not that we mind) the same question we got an hour ago. But what if you posted your question on our Facebook fan page wall? That way, everyone could benefit from your savvy query and our pithy response. If you're on Facebook, give it a try! And if you haven't "fanned" us yet, now's a super time to do so!
Has this happened to you? You get an email from your mom, hit the reply button, but accidentally (we think you did it accidentally) hit the spam or "this is junk" button? Happens to the best of us. Yep, even we've done it. But if you hit spam on one of our emails, or even an email received from one of our related companies (such as Smarter Travel or Booking Buddy), you won't be able to sign up for our wonderful, free emails again. That's why some of you might be receiving a "you're not allowed to sign up" message when you discover you're not getting emails from us anymore and try to sign up again. The only way you can get back in our good graces is to send an email to questions@airfarewatchdog.com and request to be "unbanned." We don't do this to be mean; it's just following best internet practices. Hey, it might even be a law or something.
The British Airways Chase Visa card is offering 100,000 miles for acquiring the card and spending just $2,000 in the first three months. We've never seen an offer this generous before. That's enough miles for two "free" tickets (we use that word loosely, since there are always taxes and sometimes fees associated with frequent flyer programs and airline tickets) to Europe, or you can "spend" the miles on partner American Airlines. Plus you get an unusually generous 1.25 miles for every dollar charged, vs. the usual 1 mile. And if you have the card, you can save $50 on every BA fare by booking at ba.com/get50.
And if all that's not enough, every time you spend $30,000 or more on the card, you get a free companion certificate, valid for 2 years from issue, in any class of service. The annual fee for the card is $75. Apply here.
USA 3000 has some swell new fares for fall/winter travel to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Florida. As the prompt on their site suggests, you'll have better luck snagging the cheapest fares if you're flexible with your travel dates.
If you've just tripped across Airfarewatchdog, or heard about us in the news or overheard someone in the supermarket checkout line raving about us and want to learn what our users are saying, then click on over to our Facebook fan page where there's a bunch of comments from current users explaining why we are so super duper. And if you're already a fan, be sure to put in your two cents!
