American Airlines customers flying in economy class to and from the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Europe and India were previously able to check two bags (within the usual weight and size limitations) for free; no more. Any customer with a fare purchased after February 10, 2011 will now pay $30 each way for the second bag. Call it checked bag fee inflation. No doubt there will be more changes to come.
