United's Weekend E-Fares.

If you are looking to get out of town after Christmas, then check out United's weekend sale. You must depart after 7pm on Friday December 26 or anytime on Saturday December 27 and return on either Monday December 29 or Tuesday December 30 in order to take part in this promotion.

Here is a sampling of the fares I found on their website (roundtrip with taxes and fees included). In parenthesis is the competition's price.

* Los Angeles (LAX) - Fresno (FAT), $185 nonstop (American $266 nonstop)

* Washington (IAD) - Greenville (GSP), $191 nonstop (Delta $221 1 stop)

* Boston (BOS) - Knoxville (TYS), $258 1 stop (US Airways $271 1 stop)

* Akron (CAK) - Chicago (ORD), $217 nonstop (Northwest $260 1 stop)
