JetBlue may fly to Bogota next year

Posted by George Hobica on Sunday, October 28, 2007

According to a report in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, JetBlue has "filed" for authority to fly between both Orlando and Ft. Lauderale to Bogota, Columbia. The airline hopes to begin service from Orlando next April and from FLL in October 2008. Read Sam Sellers' commentary in the Airline Bulletin blog.

New York Telephone, a Verizon predecessor, spelled it wrong, too, until I corrected them.

It's like when the United Sates calls themselves America. when all of us central and south AMERICANS are still living in America. So what are we? non-American AMERICANS?

Funny its not just the writer. A guy from ColOmbia saw me wearing a ColUmbia sweatshirt and he says "Viva ColOmbia" to me. Duh. So the writer can be forgiven if even a native citizen makes an error.

The writer is by far not the first nor, I'm afraid, the last to spell the country like the university.

It's easy to find the correct spelling of Colombia. New York Telephone, a Verizon predecessor, spelled it wrong, too, until I corrected them.
