Late Summer/Early Fall fares to Italy on Eurofly

Fares from Washington DC:

Eurofly is having a sale from New York to select Italian cities, good for travel from August 15 through November 13. Never heard of 'em? A visit to their somewhat dinky web site may leave you underwhelmed but maybe the fares can win you over. Let's have a look, shall we?

    • New York to Bologna, advertised as $529 round-trip. We checked for travel from October 16 through October 24 and found a fare of $684 round-trip, including taxes. That’s much better than the $763 fare we found with Virgin and Lufthansa on Orbitz, and that comes with 2 layovers.
    • New York to Pescara, advertised as $529 round-trip. We checked for travel on September 4 through September 12 and found a fare of $610 round-trip, including taxes. The best we found on Orbitz was a fare of $1,452 round-trip on United Airlines, which includes two layovers as opposed to one with Eurofly.
    • New York to Lamezia Terme, advertised as $529 round-trip. We checked for travel on September 1 through September 9 and found a fare of $1,070 round-trip, including taxes. Back over at Orbitz, the best we found was $1,235 round-trip on Alitalia.
    •  New York to Palermo, advertised as $529 round-trip. We checked for travel on August 26 through September 7 and found a fare of $999 round-trip, non-stop, including all taxes. Alitalia has this same trip, including layover, for $1,235 round-trip.
In all of our searches, Eurofly looks like your best bet, especially to cities like Bologna and Pescara. Eurofly doesn't provide an expiration date for this sale, so we're guessing it's first come first serve.
